The “Bites & Bikes Street Food Festival” at Gleisdreieckpark is the first street food festival entirely on wheels, focusing on sustainable mobility and the growing cargo bike culture. Creator Raffaele Nicolas Avolos, a street food chef and event manager, transports up to 600 kilograms of his mobile kitchen using an E-bike and cargo trailer. His stand, “Mercurio Street Food,” offers his famous Panzerotti, deep-fried mini calzones from Bari, and Spaghetti all’Assassina on a second emissions-free bike. The festival aims to show gastronomes that running a business by bicycle is possible.
